Music and Family
When the teacher mentioned creating a family blog, the first person who came to mind was my dad, as he has had the most significant influence on my musical tastes. My earliest memories of music are with him, so there’s no better place to start than with him. I hope you all enjoy the interview!
Please remember to turn on the subtitles if you don't understand Spanish. :)
This is the first song that my dad mentions in his interview, "Isla Bonita" by Madonna, which reminds him of his childhood and is one of the songs he enjoys the most.
This is another song that my dad enjoyed during his childhood: "The Four Seasons" by Vivaldi. He has liked it for a long time because it represents a different genre of music from what he listened to when he was young. He finds this piece interesting because it captures the changes of the seasons through its symphony.
My dad mentioned that he dislikes Bad Bunny because he feels that this genre is not as beautiful and harmonious as other types of music. He finds it to be more explicit and vulgar, and he doesn't identify with it.
To conclude one of my favorite blog entries, I really enjoyed learning about my dad's past with music. I discovered new things, such as the fact that he knows how to play the piano. It was also nice to take the time to interview him and have a conversation, especially since it had been a while since we last talked. Through this interview, I not only learned about my dad's past but also gained insights into how music was experienced and appreciated in the past, as well as how it has evolved over time. Interviewing him opened my eyes to how profoundly music influences his feelings. His appreciation for diverse styles and genres is truly inspiring, and the way he connects emotions to melodies is genuinely remarkable. It’s exciting to discover how deeply music has shaped and continues to shape his perspective!
Hi, Your dad seems like a very interesting guy with some really good music taste, I really like the rock bands he mentions. I love all those bands and used to be super into Iron Maiden and I was able to go to one of their concerts one time when i was pretty young with my brother and uncle and it was a lot of fun!
